Environment

We’re a company that talks a lot about creating high performance environments. We’re also concerned about protecting the one we were born into. That’s why we’re creating solutions that balance concern for environmental quality and social responsibility with your concern for your people, customers, business performance and economic success. Many of our solutions are environmentally compatible and offer human life-safety and productivity benefits, as well as effective return on investment. Achieving human and resource productivity is our approach to “green.” rePLACE Demountable Wall Base System is a perfect example of how we balance sustainability with economic return. It’s a brand-new patented wall base that’s hung on a track so it can be easily reused, replaced or recycled. rePLACE offers several important environmental benefits. First, it reduces landfill waste through recycling and reuse. Second, because building managers can reuse the base, life cycle is extended, which reduces the use of fossil fuels required to manufacture and transport replacement product.

But our commitment to environmental responsibility goes beyond products. We require many of our suppliers to ship raw material in bulk, which conserves energy during transport. We reuse most of our post-industrial products and waste raw materials. We reduce air pollutants by using high-efficiency dust collector systems. But the biggest impact we have on the environment is by simply doing what we do best: creating new flooring products and stairwell systems that integrate design and life-safety with long life cycles to help customers achieve economic success. Many of our products function well and look good for up to 30 years. So far fewer resources are used over time than with other flooring products with much shorter life cycles. We’re committed to offering our customers excellent products with outstanding long-term economic value – today and in the future. Because we know the story of how we help make the world a greener place is a continuing one.
